On Monday, August 21, 2023 we will be holding our annual Meet and Greet for families of 1st - 6th grade students. Families will sign up for a specific time between 4:30 pm and 6:00pm. This allows our teachers to spend time with each family as they bring in their supplies. You may register for a Meet & Greet via this link once teacher assignments are released on August 14th. You will need to check your student’s teacher assignment in the parent portal before registering for a Meet and Greet time.

Kindergarten Meet & Greet will be held on Monday, August 28th from either 4:30-5:00 or 5:00-5:30 p.m. You will receive more details on August 25th.

If your student is riding the bus, you will learn your bus assignment through the parent portal. Bus assignments will be made in mid-August and we will alert you when they are available. Bus assignments could change up to the night before school starts, so check back often!

PV Astronomy Club Observing Night: You are invited to PV Astronomy Club's first observing night of the new school year. Together with the Quad Cities Astronomical Society (www.qcastro.org or Facebook: QCAS), we will be hosting our star party at Pleasant Valley Junior High School in Le Claire on Saturday, August 12th from sunset (around 8:00 pm) until whenever. The highlight of this evening will be the Perseid Meteor Shower (one of the best showers of the year - Sky and Telescope article), but we will also have a bunch of telescopes set-up for your viewing. We will be able to see planets, star clusters, and nebulae. Bring your family, your friends, and everyone else. It is free and open to the public. Bring a bag chair, a blanket, and some bug spray. Feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars, too. Remember not to use your cell phone or white light flashlights near the viewing party as it will ruin your night eyes. We will be behind PVJH near the track. You should park in front of the building (South side) and walk around the East side of the building towards the back parking lot. There will be signs to help guide you.
