Dear Riverdale Heights Families,
Attention 6th grade families: Iowa Immunization Law requires all students entering 7th grade to have one dose of Tdap vaccine and one dose of Meningococcal vaccine. Once these have been completed please provide the date to your school nurse. The State of Iowa allows NO grace period for the start of the school year. Students without evidence of these vaccinations or an immunization exemption certificate on file will be unable to attend school in August until the requirement is met.
PV Kindergarten Open House is on Friday, May 27th, in each of our elementary buildings for children who will be enrolled in Kindergarten in the 2022-23 school year. Please be reminded that there will be no school for our current Kindergartners on that day.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, JUNE 2: Elementary will dismiss at 11:30am.
PTA Meeting: Plan to attend our LAST PTA meeting of the year; Tuesday, May 17th at 6:30. The meeting will take place in the school library or audio is available via Zoom.
Backyard Bash: Bring your family and enjoy this FUN end of the year outdoor celebration on Friday, May 20that 5:30PM. All are welcome, bring a chair and a cooler for this fun, family picnic style event. Purchase dinner from our food truck vendors and/or enjoy a cool treat from Kona Ice. NEW this year for $5 you will receive three chances to dunk a teacher or staff member in the DUNK TANK!

3rd Grade Orchestra Sign-Ups: All current 3rd grade students are welcome to sign up for 4th Grade orchestra for next year! Summer Camp Sign-Up: Several summer camps are currently available in the Parent Portal. Currently available is wrestling, track & field, boys swimming, volleyball, golf, theatre, girls basketball, boys basketball and football with more options coming soon.
Boys Summer Swim Camp for incoming 5th-8th graders: Join us June 13th-16th to build upon your swimming technique. All participants should be able to competently do 2 of the 4 strokes. PV Boys Basketball Golf Outing: The PV Boys Basketball Program is hosting their first ever Golf Outing on July 30th at Hidden Hills Golf Course in Bettendorf. Registration will start at 6:45am with a 7:30am shotgun start. It’s a two-man scramble at $65 per person, and you will receive 18-holes, golf cart, and lunch from Bettendorf Hy-Vee - plus prizes! Belmont Mile, June 4: The Pleasant Valley Track & Field and Cross Country Team will be hosting a 1-mile race on the evening of June 4th. Beginning at 6:30pm we will run heats of the mile beginning with the community race. Race divisions also include Junior High, High School, and Elite. PV Youth Tackle Football: Registration is open for youth tackle football through the Youth Sports Foundation (YSF) for the fall of 2022. Hand in Hand After School Programming 2022-23: Hand-in-hand is offering inclusive after-school care for the 2022-23. If you are interested in care for the fall, please fill out this registration form.
Bettendorf Parks and Recreation: Summer Playground Program! One entire summer long program for the kids! We offer seven different playground sites to choose from. Each site is staffed with camp counselors ready to provide fun-filled activities for your kids every afternoon! This program is for 5-12 year olds (MUST have completed Kindergarten) and meets 12:30pm-4:00pm Monday-Friday June 6 - August 5. Cost is $50 for residents and $125 for non-residents. Weekly field trips are offered for an additional fee. All field trips are optional but must be chosen at the time of registration. For over 70 years, this summer program has been a huge hit! Host an International Student: Bettendorf Rotary is seeking host families for two international rotary students who will attend PVHS in the fall. The commitment is 3-5 months, with constant support resources from the Rotary District 6000. Please consider sharing your family and culture with one of these students.
