Dear Riverdale Heights Families,
It is hard to believe it is already February and we are quickly approaching the end of Term 2 and spring conferences later this month. We are looking forward to sharing your child's growth with you and encourage you to look for scheduling links in the near future!
Following the holiday season, we have seen an uptick in students bringing toys and games from home, most notably Pokemon cards. Many times these items create situations where students lose items and/or become distracted from learning when focusing on them. Please encourage your child to leave these items at home.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Elementary Conferences: Elementary Conferences begin February 23. Please look for an enews the morning of February 8 to sign your student up for a conference.
Transition to PVJH: We would like to invite you and your child to PVJH’s gymnasium on February 22 at 7:00pm! Due to space restrictions, we are limiting attendance to 2 members per family (2 Adults or 1 Adult and 1 Student).
This session will be an opportunity to meet PVJH counseling staff and administration to discuss programs, policies, and procedures at the Junior High. We hope to address all of your questions and concerns through this forum. The topics that we will cover in this session are:
1. A general overview of the junior high school
2. A review of the Schedule of Courses booklet and registration dates
3. Activities available
4. Counselor services
5. Question and answers
This is an important and exciting period in your young person’s life and we look forward to answering any questions you may have. In preparation for this meeting we encourage you and your child to take a moment to review the on-line Schedule of Courses booklet. Course selection and course information will be provided to all 6th grade students at the elementary conferences. If you have questions, please feel free to call the Counseling Office at 563-332-0202.
Valentine’s Day Parties: A treat from the Spartan Safe Snack List and a fun activity will be provided at the class party. To keep the party safe for all students we ask that you do not attach any food items to valentine cards nor can a food item be sent home in a backpack for the student to enjoy later at home . You are welcome to attach items such as pencils or stickers to the valentines.
